Yes, Tex and Landry had their share of bad drafts in the 80s...and that poor talent untimately led to the 1989 season in many ways.

Julius Jones...a bad move for sure. You could say Parcells signed off on that one too, but it doesn't take away from the fact that Jerry was a part of it. We'll have to add Julius to our list.

I agree that JJ has been in way over his head ever since he ran off the other JJ. But to be fair, even Tex Schramm and Tom Landry had a streak of flops in the '80s.

1980 - Bill Roe
1981 - Howard Richards
1982 - Rod Hill
1983 - Jim Jeffcoat (exception to the rule...he was a great player)
1984 - Bill Cannon Jr
1985 - Kevin Brooks
1986 - Mike Sherrard
1987 - Na...na...Noonan, Danny

But getting back to the GM Jerry bashing, you left off the Draft Day move that I found to be the most egregious. He passed on Steven Jackson to pick that perennial pro-bowler Julius Jones. That proved to be a brilliant move.

Regardless of the number of Pro Bowlers GM Jerry Jones has drafted, there has been only one Super Bowl (with Jimmy Johnson's team) since Jerry started running the draft. Would Jerry Jones the owner tolerate such a track-record if someone else were GM? I highly doubt it. That man would have been fired sometime in the late 1990's if even that long.

Yes, but look at the DRAFTS in those years: Terrence Newman (pro-bowler), Jason Witten (pro-bowler), Demarcus Ware (pro-bowler). The Cowboys went 13-3 with the players from those drafts.
